The feather of freedom drifts in the wind, and wherever it falls, it turns into a land of refreshing winds and freedom.
Located in the Yuelai Area of Liangjiang New District, Chongqing, LUXERIVERS serves as the main hub in this area surrounded by mountains and shrouded in mist over the rivers. The design team follows the concept of “adapting to local conditions” and takes into account the architectural layout, creating an S-shaped landscape zone that features multi-level landscape spaces and refreshing, themed, and immersive community landscape.
Here, the wind shapes the site and provides people with a shared living space; it brings phenological changes, allowing people to experience their surroundings; it also conveys a sense of spirit, becoming a “spiritual totem” that a group is proud of.
Inspiration From The Wind
The land provides us with the most original inspiration, while the mission of landscape design is to reshape the landscape space and the eco environment based on the site’s characteristics. Since the building’s facade resembles a “setting sail,” we create the landscape with the theme of wind, creating a forest-like residential area with one corridor, one ring, and two atriums. Here, a journey in the land of wind and freedom begins as the wind-themed landscape spaces unfold in front of you.
▽ Site Spatial Layout
The wind shapes the site, creates phenological changes, and leaves behind beauty.
Wind brings gifts from nature, showcasing the beauty of “one ring, one corridor, and two courtyards” for LUXERIVERS.
The Wind Rises
The wing-style gate depicts the wind flowing freely, and the curved roof also draws inspiration from the wings that flap to unveil a new world. The wind’s tracks are full of strength and grace, inviting people to explore the fascinating world.
▽ Entrance Space
In the morning sun, a stainless steel chair lies alone in a corner of the garden, like an elegant aristocrat quietly enjoying the gentle breeze of the morning light. The smooth surface reflects the golden light, symbolizing the accumulation of years and quality. The breeze and the chair made a crisp sound, echoing the story of years. The sun shone on the chair, warm and peaceful, as if time had frozen in this moment. No one can resist this peaceful and quiet, as if the entire world is enveloped by this touch of gold. In this picturesque landscape, the stainless steel chair adds a touch of elegance to the earth and brings spiritual comfort to people.
The Wind Gone
The shallow pool under the wood plays with the flowing road, creating a series of spaces of different sizes that meet our needs, such as relaxing by the water, splashing through the stream, and sitting alone under the trees…
The space is beautifully decorated with a collage of highly artistic mosaic patterns, creating a striking landscape and the opportunity to get close to the water.

The flexibility and emptiness of space also creates many opportunities for future community use, which will encourage people to get closer to nature and interact with the landscape downstairs.
The plants are arranged in a clever manner to allow people to experience four seasons in nature. There are Nassella tenuissimas swaying in the wind, the lawn theater with light and shadow dancing, the well-arranged trees and the ferns on the ground, all of which will surprise us with seasonal surprises throughout the year.
The wind is invisible, but it shapes everything. In the Valley of Wind, the graceful motion of the wind is transformed into a palpable “valley”. The corridor, made up of nearly 800 metal tubes of various lengths and curves, is raised above the ground only by six supporting points, giving it the appearance of growing from the earth.
The walking path zigzags around the garden, connecting the landscape nodes along the way. It provides people with the chance to experience different perspectives under the gentle breeze.
Each residential building is decorated with distinctive pavement, which is light in color and interacts with the building’s facade and surrounding environment through its light-colored arc elements. The garden on the ground floor is designed with flowing green to blur the distinction between indoor and outdoor spaces.
▽ An Elevated Garden
Running through various landscapes, the white curve sculpture creates a gap between buildings, capturing the tracks of the wind.

The Sunlight Changes
With an open-style design, we aim to encourage interaction between humans and nature, allow us to escape the hustle and bustle of city life, and reconnect with nature.
▽ Night Atmosphere
At the LUXERIVERS, we follow the wind and capture the beauty of it, creating a space that allows people to get lost in nature and enjoy their lives in a more relaxed way.
I hope that in the midst of nature, the beautiful community life will unfold without any interruptions. Only in such an environment can we feel more relaxed, open-minded, and determined.
